Happy Monday!
Welcome to our 21 Days of Prayer! Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing about prayer and answering questions I have received about this vital topic. I’ve also created a 21 Days Of Prayer Guide for you as well.
Recently, I received a question from one of our youth. They asked, ‘Why should we pray if God is already going to do what He wants?” I think that is a great question and the answer is found in 1st Timothy 2.
1st Timothy 2:1-5 says, “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 5 For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity--the man Christ Jesus.” (NLT)
Notice, verse 4 says that God wants everyone to be saved and understand the truth. It is God’s will and desire that everyone will be saved. However, we know that there will be people who will choose to reject God. This reveals a powerful truth to us - the will of God is not automatic. What God wants does not automatically come to pass.
When we pray, we partner with the plan of God for our lives. When we pray, we can discern His will and align our lives toward it. Daniel understood the importance of prayer. His prayer life and decisions caused Him to experience unprecedented favor and continually increase in influence. In today’s podcast, I answer more questions about prayer. Stream today’s podcast and then share it with someone you know that needs to hear it and be encouraged.
I am praying for you! Remember to pray the daily prayer for 2026. After you pray the daily prayer, as I shared above, pause and take time to listen. Always remember, prayer is not complete until you take time to listen.
