Good Morning,
Happy Holy Week! I hope you had a great Palm Sunday! Today is going to be a great day for you!
John 12 records one of the events that happened after Jesus’ triumphant entry on Palm Sunday. As Jesus spoke to His disciples, He prayed, “Father, glorify your name.”
“Then a voice came from heaven, saying, "I have both glorified it and will glorify it again." Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, "An angel has spoken to Him." Jesus answered and said, "This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake.” (John 12:28-30 NKJV)
Notice, the Father spoke from Heaven. One group thought it was thunder. One group was more spiritual and thought it was of heavenly origin. However, only one group knew that it was the Father and knew what He said.
The issue isn’t God speaking, it is the spiritual perceptivity of the hearers. God loves to talk to us. He wants to lead us and guide us into all truth. However, it is our responsibility to develop our spiritual perceptivity. We do that by daily spending time in the Word, praying, taking time to listen after we pray, and living in awareness of the truth that God is with us.
In today’s devotional podcast, I share more about how you can increase your spiritual perceptivity. Listen to today’s devotional, it will encourage you!
Remember to pray the daily prayer for 2026 and know that God loves you and His plan for your life is good. After you pray the daily prayer, pause and take time to listen. Always remember, prayer is not complete until you take time to listen. There is safety and direction in waiting and listening.
We are reading through the Bible this year. Today’s reading plan is located at the bottom of this newsletter. If you want a pdf print out of the plan, click here.
