Happy Wednesday!
Your prayer life really matters! Did you know that there are many different types of prayer? Ephesians 6:18 (AMPC) says, “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).”
Notice, the passage says “with all manner of prayer and entreaty.” All manner simply means all types of prayer. We are in our 21 Days Of Prayer and I want you to know more about prayer so that your prayer life goes to the next level. In addition to these newsletters, I’ve also created a 21 Days Of Prayer Guide for you as well. This guide examines the life of Daniel and shares Scriptural wisdom to help you take your prayer life to the next level. Follow along with us over the next few weeks.
As we discovered above, there are many types of prayer. However, if we speed through our prayer life with quick prayers while we run out the door, we will not have a very effective prayer life or one that skillfully uses the different types of prayer.
I like to compare the different types of prayers to different sports. I cannot play basketball by baseball rules. I cannot play football by soccer rules. I cannot play cricket by volleyball rules. Each sport has its own set of rules. It is the same regarding the types of prayer.
As we go through these 21 Days of Prayer, I want you to go from “hoping to get a prayer through” to discovering the art of prayer where you are learning to pray skillfully. Here is a list of different types of prayer listed in the Word of God:
The Prayer of Faith
The Prayer of Consecration
The Prayer of Commitment
The Prayer of Worship
The Prayer of Agreement
Prayer in the Spirit
United Prayer
The Prayer of Supplication & Petition
Intercessory Prayer
I am praying for you! Remember to pray the daily prayer for 2026. After you pray the daily prayer, as I shared above, pause and take time to listen. Always remember, prayer is not complete until you take time to listen.
