Today’s Scripture 🍞

So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who [are] with us [are] more than those who [are] with them." 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, "LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain [was] full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

2nd Kings 6:16-17 (NKJV)

Today’s Devotional 📖

Good Morning,

Happy Taco Tuesday! Do you feel overwhelmed? Do you feel like you are surrounded by problems? I want to remind you of the story of the gentleman in 2nd Kings 6.

This individual worked for the prophet Elisha. He woke up early in the morning and went outside. To his shock and utter horror, the city was surrounded by an enemy army that was sent to capture Elisha. He panicked. He ran to Elisha and told him the dire situation and how they were surrounded by problems.

How did Elisha respond? He said, “Don’t be afraid! For there are more on our side than on theirs!” (NLT). Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!” The LORD opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. (2nd Kings 6:16-17 NLT)

The young man thought they were surrounded - he was right. However, he only saw the problems. God has surrounded him, Elisha, and all the enemies with angelic forces. In the same way, God has surrounded you and your problems. There is more for you than against you.

There was help all the time. However, the man didn’t know about it and he couldn’t see it. There is help for you today. Even if you feel like you are surrounded by problems, God has surrounded with His goodness and has sent angels to help you. (We’ll share about your angelic help in tomorrow’s devotional.)

God has sent you the help, but you have to learn to consistently access it by faith. How? First, by believing that God has surrounded you with goodness and is surrounding you with help. Second, pray the daily prayer for 2026. It’s a prayer to help you receive and live by God’s wisdom. It will also increase your spiritual insight and understanding. As a result, you will grow in knowledge of God’s help and learn to access it. Third, don’t adopt the language of defeat. You are not an accident going somewhere to happen. You are not “over” or “done for.” You are victorious and more than a conqueror through Him that loves you! (Romans 8:37)

In today’s podcast, I share more about how God is surrounding you. Tomorrow, I’ll share about the angelic help God has provided for you.
