Today’s Scripture 🍞

So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. ¹⁵ This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. ¹⁶ So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Faith In The Morning Daily Affirmation 🌅

I am the salt of the earth. I am the light of this world. Jesus said it so I believe it. I am a carrier of the Glory of God. Today, I will experience the extreme goodness of God. Today, I make myself available for God to show His goodness to others through me.  Today, I am increasing in influence. Today, I will see the goodness of God in my life! Today, something good is going to happen to me so I expect miracles. 

Today’s Devotional 📖

Good Morning,

Hebrews 4:16 tells us to come boldly to the throne of Grace so that we can receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. We receive mercy at His throne which is God’s steadfast love, His kindness, and His covenant faithfulness. In addition to mercy, we receive grace at the throne of grace! In Hebrews 4:16, we see that the grace mentioned is defined as supernatural help and assistance. God has help for you today! If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or something else close to your heart, God has help and comfort for you today.

John 14:14-16 (AMPC) describes some of the help God has made available for you today. It says, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you.”

According to this passage, the Holy Spirit has comfort for you. Jesus promised to not leave you comfortless. He will not leave you bereaved. God has comfort for you today and will help you in your grief.

2nd Corinthians 1:3-4 says, “Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

God is the God of all comfort and He has the comfort you need today. If you are grieving today, I want you to know that God loves you and wants to comfort you. I know it seems like a lot, but there is a future for you. In your future, your heart is whole, you are emotionally healthy, and you have healed from this loss.

Years ago, I wrote a book called The Empty Chair to help people follow Jesus’ example in grieving. Yes, Jesus grieved too! However, He also carried your grief so that you do not have to be overcome by the weight of it. I want you to learn more about this and live in God’s comfort today. Today’s Prayer 🙏

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, thank you for loving me. You love me so much that you sent the Holy Spirit to live within me. I ask for and receive your comfort and help. Help me to listen to the Holy Spirit and yield to His leadings. Grant me wisdom, insight, and divine help for all the things I face and have to deal with today. I thank you for all of these things and I receive them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
