Happy Monday!
It’s a brand new week with fresh mercy from our loving Heavenly Father. Let’s begin this week expecting the help, kindness, and goodness of God to flood our lives. Last week, we shared how God is rich in kindness. Today, I want to share a wonderful Scripture about how God’s mercies are fresh and new every morning.
Lamentations 3:21-23 (NKJV) says, “This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. 22 [Through] the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 [They are] new every morning; Great [is] Your faithfulness.”
When the prophet is writing Lamentations, his nation is in a desperate situation. It has been destroyed because of sin and iniquity. They received the negative results of their bad choices. Everything looks bleak and hopeless. What gives him hope for the future? The mercies of God.
Remember, kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, helpful, and considerate toward others through intentional and voluntary actions. Mercy is kindness or goodwill joined with a desire to help those who are in need of help. The prophet had hope for the future because he had faith in God’s mercy. He truly believed in the faithfulness of God knowing that God’s mercies are new every morning.
No matter what you are facing this Monday, I want you to place your faith in God’s kindness and mercy. Have hope (positive expectation) for your week because the faithful love of the Lord never ends! (Lamentations 3:22 NLT). He has new mercies for you! Today, I want you to meditate on that wonderful truth. We’ll share more about it on today’s podcast. Stream today’s podcast and then share it with someone you know that needs to hear it and be encouraged.
