For God [is] not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, [in that] you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Hebrews 10:32-35 says, “But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: 33 partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; 34 for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven. 35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.” (NKJV)
In this passage, the writer shares how the readers endured hardship because of their faith and stand for Jesus. They had been through it! Either personally or through associating with other believers who were suffering. Despite the persecution and the pressure, they kept their joy and showed love to others.
The writer reminded them in Hebrews 6:10 that God hasn’t forgotten their labor of love. In this passage, he told them to not throw away their confidence because their confidence had a great reward attached to it. As we have shared, this confidence isn’t rooted in our human ability. It is a confidence rooted in God, His Word, His character, and our relationship with Him. It is a supernatural confidence displayed by our words.
In this passage, one of the definitions of reward is payday. God has a payday for you! There is an old saying, “God may not pay up every other Friday, but when He pays up, He pays up big.” The writer encouraged the believers to not throw away their confident trust and talk because God had a payday for them.
As I was recording this morning’s podcast, in my heart I picked up that we are entering into a reward season. As I reflect on that prophetic moment, I truly believe we are entering a season where we will see rewards and see God do miraculous things in that arena of our lives.
Don’t give up. Stay faithful. Keep your trust in God and keep speaking His promises. It’s reward season. God has good plans for your life and great rewards in store for you.
