So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Hebrews 4:16 (NLT)
I am the salt of the earth. I am the light of this world. Jesus said it so I believe it. I am a carrier of the Glory of God. Today, I will experience the extreme goodness of God. Today, I make myself available for God to show His goodness to others through me. Today, I am increasing in influence. Today, I will see the goodness of God in my life! Today, something good is going to happen to me so I expect miracles.
Good Morning,
Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! In today’s devotional, we are continuing our journey discovering the help that God has for you. His help isn’t late or random. His help is always right on time! He really is an On Time God! When we live expecting the help of the Lord, we live with supernatural confidence and boldness.
Hebrews 4:16 tells us to come boldly to the throne of Grace so that we can receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. We receive mercy at His throne. As we previously covered, mercy is God’s steadfast love, His kindness, and His covenant faithfulness. We need to have faith in the mercy of God.
In addition to mercy, we receive grace at the throne of grace! In Hebrews 4:16, we see that the grace mentioned is defined as supernatural help and assistance. God has help for you today!
In the AMPC, the latter part of verse 16 says, “find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].” The help God has for you is appropriate help and it shows up just when you need it.
In the MSG version it says, “So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.” We have to learn to readily accept the help that God gives us.
God desired to help us so much that He sent the Divine Helper to live within us. In fact, Jesus said in John 14:14-16 (AMPC), “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you.”
I like to say it this way, you have “inside help.” The Holy Spirit lives within you and desires greatly to help you in every area of your life. As you learn to listen for Him and respond to His promptings, you will find yourself stronger, refreshed, well-rested, and supernaturally productive.
