(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, [even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. 18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Romans 4:17-21 (KJV)
I am the salt of the earth. I am the light of this world. Jesus said it so I believe it. I am a carrier of the Glory of God. Today, I will experience the extreme goodness of God. Today, I make myself available for God to show His goodness to others through me. Today, I am increasing in influence. Today, I will see the goodness of God in my life! Today, something good is going to happen to me so I expect miracles.
Good Morning,
James 3:2-4 (NKJV), says, “For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he [is] a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Indeed, we put bits in horses' mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.”
In this passage, James compares our tongues and words to a captain turning the wheel to steer the ship. The captain can steer the boat wherever he chooses. He can take it to a great destination or he could steer it into the rocks and danger. Abraham had to learn this lesson. In today’s Scripture, we see that he followed the example of God by calling things that be not as though they were.
When we read through his story in the Book of Genesis, we see that God changed his name to Abraham. Abraham means “father of many nations.” What is one of the ways God used to transformed Abraham’s life? He changed the way he talked.
Every time Abraham had to introduce (or reintroduce) himself, he was declaring that he was the father of many nations. He was identifying with the promise of God and speaking forth the results that both he and God desired. I am not saying that you need to change your name. I am saying that you need to daily identify with the promises of God and speak forth the results you expect in your life.
How do you do that? Find a promise in the Word that you need to show up in your life. For example, let’s say that you need wisdom for a certain situation. According to James 1, you pray in faith asking God for wisdom. As you pray, you believe God is granting your request. After you finish praying, thank God for wisdom. Next, you change the way you talk. Don’t say things like, “I just don’t know what I’m going to do.” Say things like, “I am filled with the wisdom of God. I hear His voice. The Holy Spirit leads me and guides me into all truth. I always know what to do because the Holy Spirit is my guide and I listen to Him.”
Do you see the difference? It’s not just praying. It’s praying in faith, believing you receive, accompanied with thanksgiving, followed with identification with the promise. This is the process of faith that will help you steer towards the wonderful future God has for you. A lack of identification with God’s promises causes believers to miss out on the promises of God. Don’t miss out. Identify with the promise today.
In today’s podcast, I lead you in even more confessions and affirmations that will help you identify with God’s promises of healing.
