Happy Thursday!
Your prayer life matters! Today, I want to share with you a verse from Psalms that you may never have seen in this light before. Psalms 109:4 (NKJV) says, “In return for my love they are my accusers, But I give myself to prayer.”
This phrase is powerful. I give myself to prayer. The italicized words were added by the translators for the sake of clarity; since they added them to assist, you can remove them to study. When you remove the italicized, it says “I prayer.” In modern English, we would say, “I am prayer.”
Identifying as prayer brings a fresh and maybe challenging understanding to our current prayer lives. If I am prayer, that means I pray more than in the morning to start my day. It means that I pray more than just to bless my meals or to pray before I go to sleep. After listening today’s podcast, one of our subscribers shared with me the Passion translation of this verse. The latter part of the verse says, “I will pray until I become prayer itself.”
As we approach the end of our 21 Days of Prayer, it’s not a time to go back to our old ways. It’s not time to stop developing our prayer life. It’s the time to keep pressing forward. Why? Because you are prayer.
In today’s podcast, I share more about today’s verse and why YOU should say “I am prayer” even before your life reflects it. Stream today’s podcast and then share it with someone you know that needs to hear it and be encouraged.
In addition to these newsletters, I’ve also created a 21 Days Of Prayer Guide for you as well. This guide examines the life of Daniel and shares Scriptural wisdom to help you take your prayer life to the next level. Follow along with us over the next few weeks.
I am praying for you! Remember to pray the daily prayer for 2026. After you pray the daily prayer, as I shared above, pause and take time to listen. Always remember, prayer is not complete until you take time to listen.
We are reading through the Bible this year. Today’s reading plan is located at the bottom of this newsletter. If you want a pdf print out of the plan, click here. If you’re following along with the print out plan, read two additional chapters of 1st Chronicles as you see below.
