Today’s Scripture 🍞
Then I returned and considered all the oppression that is done under the sun:
And look! The tears of the oppressed, But they have no comforter— On the side of their oppressors there is power, But they have no comforter.
Ecclesiastes 4:1 (NKJV)
Today’s Devotional 📖
Good Morning,
Happy Friday! It’s the weekend and God has help for you. As you read through Ecclesiastes, Solomon poses many questions and exposes many problems. He shares the conclusion and summary in chapter 12. (We will highlight that in a devotional soon.)
When you journey through Ecclesiastes 4, Solomon points out the need for a comforter. He sees all of the problems on earth and sees that there is a need for a comforter. With all his wisdom, he knew that we needed a comforter.
God knew it too. He sent the Holy Spirit to be our comforter. The Holy Spirit, as our comforter, is also our helper. In fact, in the AMPC of John 16:7, Jesus describes Him as “Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby.”
All of this help, described by Jesus in John 16, has been sent our way in the person of the Holy Spirit. In our daily lives, we have to learn to remain aware of His help, access His help, and follow His help. Every day, take time to acknowledge Him. Remember, Proverbs 3:6 says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
Today, say “Holy Spirit, thank you for being with me. Thank you for leading me and guiding me. Thank you for being my Helper. Then pray the daily prayer for 2026 knowing that God wants to give you wisdom and has sent the Holy Spirit to help you. After you pray this prayer, pause and take time to listen. Always remember, prayer is not complete until you take time to listen.
In today’s podcast, I share more about the help of the Holy Spirit. If you’re reading through the Bible with us this year, your chapter reminders are below. If you want a pdf print out of the plan, click here. Stream today’s podcast and share it with others. I’m praying for you!
