Eyes, Ears, Heart

God wants you to thrive in 2025. The condition of your heart is connected to your ability to thrive. The way you respond to God's Word determines whether you are closing your ears, eyes, and heart to Him. Why is that important? Why is that important? Read today's newsletter to start your day with faith and encouragement.

For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard [it]. ... again He designates a certain day, saying in David, "Today," after such a long time, as it has been said: "Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts."

Hebrews 4:2, 7 (NKJV)

Today’s Devotional 📖

Good Morning,

2025 is your year to thrive. The condition of your heart directly impacts the quality of your life and your ability to thrive. One of the many reasons why your heart is important is because you believe from your heart. Another reason your heart is important is because God speaks to you in your heart.

When God speaks to you through His Word or His Spirit, you have the choice to believe and respond. If you choose to reject what He says, your heart becomes harder. When you choose to believe what He says, your heart becomes softer. Why is that important? The state of our heart impacts our ability to hear from God.

In Matthew 13:14-16, Jesus said, “And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: 'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. [Their] ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with [their] eyes and hear with [their] ears, Lest they should understand with [their] hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.' "But blessed [are] your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear.”

Notice how the people Jesus was referring to closed their own ears. As a result, they couldn’t benefit from what God wanted to do in their lives. As Proverbs says, hearing ears and seeing eyes are gifts from God. Throughout the Gospels and the Book of Revelation, Jesus says, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Well how do you get these spiritual eyes that see and ears that hear? By faith.

These are gifts from God you receive by simply saying, “I take ears to hear and eyes to see. Thank you Father for ears that hear and eyes that see.” Every time you do that, you are positioning your heart to hear from God. You are doing what Proverbs teaches. You are inclining or “stretching your ear” out to the Lord for His direction and wisdom. You are setting yourself up to receive from God and to thrive in 2025.

You are a believer. Not a doubter. Choose to believe God today. Keep depositing His Word in your heart. I want to share more about this with you in today’s podcast. You can stream today’s podcast on YouTube, Apple Podcast or Spotify.

Today’s Prayer 🙏

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, I believe you love me extravagantly and you have great plans for my life. I pray that you will help me ponder the path of my feet. Grant me wisdom for all the decisions I have to make today. Show me the adjustments that I need to make. I ask for eyes that see and for ears that hear. Help me to guard my heart and have a soft heart before you. Thank you for leading me and guiding me. I will thrive in 2025! In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
