Happy Thursday!
God wants you to experience His goodness! Psalms 103:5 (NLT) says, “He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle's!” God wants your life filled with His goodness.
James 1:16-17 (NLT) says, “So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.”
The phrase “coming down” in the Greek paints the picture of a heavy downpour of rain. God doesn’t just give good things here and there. It’s not an occasion or rare thing. He daily desires to pour them on us and fill our lives with them. In fact, this passage emphasizes that God only gives good things - He doesn’t give evil. Don’t be misled. God has good things in store for you today! Keep yourself in position to receive the good by expecting God’s goodness.
Today and over the next few podcasts and newsletters, we are going to dive into this wonderful truth and benefit. The more we learn about this truth, the more we will expect it. The more we expect it, the more we will recognize it. The more we recognize it, the more we will experience.
I am praying for you! Remember to pray the daily prayer for 2026. After you pray the daily prayer, as I shared above, pause and take time to listen. Always remember, prayer is not complete until you take time to listen.
We are reading through the Bible this year. Today’s reading plan is located at the bottom of this newsletter. If you want a pdf print out of the plan, click here.
