Today’s Scripture 🍞
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper [in the thing] for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV)
Today’s Devotional 📖
Happy Monday,
Across the weekend, we watched a winter storm deliver snow, ice, and freezing rain across a large section of the United States. As we observe its impact and watch it melt, let the weather remind you of God’s promises. In Isaiah 55, God compares His Word to rain and snow.
In verse 11, God delivers a special promise. He says that in the same way that precipitation waters the earth, His Word will accomplish the result He intended. Rain waters the earth and farmers till the soil to grow crops. God sent His Word to your heart, but you must guard your heart and follow God’s Word to receive its full impact.
In the same way that a farmer diligently takes care of the soil and harvests his crops, we must diligently hold on to the Word God has spoken to us. When we run into contrary and negative circumstances, we have to be the people who hold on to God’s promises with cheerful and patient endurance.
Today, pray the daily prayer for 2026 knowing that God wants to give you wisdom and that God’s Word will come to pass in your life. After you pray this prayer, pause and take time to listen. Always remember, prayer is not complete until you take time to listen.
In today’s podcast, I share more from Isaiah 55. If you’re reading through the Bible with us this year, your chapter reminders are below. If you want a pdf print out of the plan, click here. Stream today’s podcast and share it with others. I’m praying for you!
