Today’s Scripture 🍞

Again I say, don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. 24 A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. 25 Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people's hearts, and they will learn the truth. 26 Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil's trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.

I am the salt of the earth. I am the light of this world. Jesus said it so I believe it. I am a carrier of the Glory of God. Today, I will experience the extreme goodness of God. Today, I make myself available for God to show His goodness to others through me.  Today, I am increasing in influence. Today, I will see the goodness of God in my life! Today, something good is going to happen to me so I expect miracles.

Good Morning,

In this day and age, people get embroiled into social media wars. They argue with people they do not know, say things they shouldn’t say, and lose their peace. In the heated times we live in, we must remember the wisdom Paul imparted to Timothy.

He said in the passage above, “don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights…and be patient with difficult people.” However, in order to prove points, we often dive into foolish and ignorant arguments with people who do not want to listen.

You do not have to debate every crazy thing you see on social media. You can keep scrolling and keep your peace. When it does come time to have productive discussions in the right venue, remember to be patient in your conversation - even if the people are difficult. It’s not about “sticking it” to people. It’s about speaking the truth in love.

Today, remember your words have power. Don’t allow social media to stress you out and lose your peace. If you are struggling, please log off of social media, take a break, and enjoy the life God has given you. To not engage in the foolish arguments on social media, remember the following three keys of James 1:19:

🔑 Be Quick To Hear

🔑 Be Slow To Speak

🔑 Be Slow To Wrath

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, thank you for loving me. I thank you that all your promises are trustworthy. This will be a successful month for me. I ask for your help and your wisdom as I journey through this month. I thank you that you never leave me nor forsake me. I thank you that you hear and answer prayer. You are my source and the Holy Spirit leads me and guides me into all truth. Help me to move forward and accomplish my goals and the things I need to handle this month. Help me to be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath. The fruit of meekness and self-control are working mightily in me. I receive your help, wisdom, and strength. Thank you! In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
