Don't Delay

Read today's newsletter to learn an important life lesson from the life of Joseph and to start your day with faith and encouragement.

This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph, her fiancé, was a good man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," the angel said, "do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord's message through his prophet: "Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means 'God is with us.'" When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife. But he did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus.

Today’s Devotional 📖

Good Morning,

Something good is going to happen to you today! Today, I want to continue to focus on a lesson we see from Joseph. When Joseph received the dream from God, he was quick to obey. He did what God commanded Him to do. Every time we see God communicate with Joseph, he responded with quick obedience. We should too!

It is vital for you to respond with quick obedience in this new season. Delayed obedience is disobedience. Don’t drag your feet to obey God. Years ago, I had the opportunity to sit down with Rev. Rick Renner before I went on my first mission trip. It was such an encouraging meeting! I want to share with you one of the things he said to me, “Kerrick, there is somebody on the other side of your obedience.”

When you obey God, it is for your good and the good of someone else. There is someone on the other side of your obedience. When you delay to obey, you are holding up the blessing God has for them. We all have to purpose to be quick obey the promptings of the Spirit.

As you go throughout your day and the rest of this week, make sure you are doing what God has told you to do. Live open to Him speaking to you and be quick to obey His leading. He is leading you to a place of greater influence so that you can thrive in 2025.

In today’s podcast devotional, I share more about this topic and pray a special prayer over you. Stream today’s devotional on YouTube, Apple Podcast, or Spotify and share it with someone who needs to be encouraged.

Today’s Prayer 🙏

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, I believe you love me extravagantly and you have great plans for my life. I pray that you grant me ears to hear, eyes to see, and a heart to perceive your leading. Help me to be quick to obey your directions for my life. Thank for being so good to me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
