But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Good Morning,

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! As we enjoy the holidays, remember that God wants you filled to overflowing with joy & peace. Joy and peace aren’t supposed to be seasonal experiences for you. These two powerful forces and fruit of the Spirit are for your everyday life.

As we covered, God wants us filled to overflowing with every good thing - especially the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). When you read through the list of the fruit of the Spirit, joy and peace are second and third on the list.

When you were born again, God put in your spirit the fruit of the Spirit. However, you have to learn to access them and develop them. Romans 15:13 says, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

You can be filled with joy and peace through believing. Believe is the action word of faith. During this holiday season, take time to read Scriptures about joy and peace. As you do you, faith will rise in your heart and you’ll see adjustments you need to make in order to overflow with joy and peace.

Choose joy and peace today by praying the prayer below, reminding yourself throughout the day that joy and peace are yours, and saying this affirmation, “Jesus, thank you for being with me! Thank you for loving me! I choose joy and peace and declare I will overflow with joy and peace everyday. Christ in me is the hope of glory!”

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, thank you for loving me. Your love lives within me. You have also given me your joy and peace. I thank you that you have a plan for my life. Help me to embrace the power of the pause, live gratefully, and enter into the rhythm of rest for my life. Show me the areas that I need to adjust and the habits I need to change. I receive your help, wisdom, and strength. Thank you for leading me and guiding me! Thank you for being with me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
