Happy Tuesday!

I hope you are having a wonderful start to your week! On Sunday, we are beginning our 21 Days of Prayer at Faith Christian Center. We start this special time of prayer by individually praying over students and educators as they begin a new school year. I would love to see you on Sunday and pray for you. If you are not in the Metro Atlanta area and would like us to pray over the upcoming school year for your family, you can fill out the form attached to this link and we will pray for your family and school.

Over the 21 Days of Prayer, I will be answering questions about prayer in our daily devotional podcast. We will also talk about Daniel who was man of prayer who experienced a lifetime of favor. I believe what we will share this week and over the next few weeks will encourage you, help you experience new levels of favor, and elevate your prayer life. On Saturday, I am sending out a special 21 Days Of Prayer Guide that will help you as we set out to finish the year strong.

God wants you to experience a lifetime of favor, not just a moment of favor. In Psalm 5:12, the Psalmist declares, “For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.” There is a system of living that produces a lifetime of favor. The prophet Daniel was man who experienced a lifetime of favor.

Daniel 1:8 & 9 shares about the system of living that produced a lifetime of favor for Daniel. We’ll examine it today and throughout the week. The passage says, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. 9 Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill...”

What set up Daniel for a lifetime of favor? His determination and decisions. He purposed in his heart. Before the pressure and temptation came his way, he made a quality decision to live God’s way. In reality, it looks like those decisions should have cost him greatly. However, as I shared last week, when you are favored, you actually have the upper hand. What decisions do you need to make today? Is there something you need to purpose in your heart to do?

I am praying for you! Remember to pray the daily prayer for 2026. After you pray the daily prayer, as I shared above, pause and take time to listen. Always remember, prayer is not complete until you take time to listen.

We are reading through the Bible this year. Today’s reading plan is located at the bottom of this newsletter. If you want a pdf print out of the plan, click here.
