Your Heart Is Important

2025 is your year to thrive! Your ability to thrive is connected to the condition of your heart. How is your heart? Read today's newsletter to start your day with faith and encouragement.

But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."

Romans 10:8-11 (NKJV)

Today’s Devotional 📖

Good Morning,

This is going to be a great week and an amazing month for you! The end of today’s newsletter contains the “Extra Encouragement” section and our “Faith+ Reading Plan.” Make sure you check out these sections after your read today’s devotional.

2025 is your year to thrive. Your heart is important. The condition of your heart directly impacts the quality of your life and your ability to thrive. One of the many reasons why your heart is important is because you believe from your heart.

You are a tri-part being. You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a physical body. In the passage above, when Paul is referring to your heart, he is talking about your spirit. Notice what Jesus said about your heart in Mark 11.

Mark 11:22-24 says, “So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive [them], and you will have [them].” (NKJV)

In this classic teaching on faith, Jesus said, “and does not doubt in his heart, but believes". Belief, faith, flows from our heart. It is actually possible to have faith in our hearts and doubt in our minds. How do we handle that? We follow the leading of God in our hearts and renew our minds to the truth of the Word of God.

Whatever you deposit into your heart on a continual basis will determine what you believe. Whatever you continually say, see, and hear, will determine what you believe. This means we have to watch what continually comes through the “gates” of our eyes and ears. We also have to watch what we continually say.

Sometimes, we hurt our ability to believe by what we say. Have you ever heard someone say something wild or crazy and you responded, “I can’t believe that.” Although the phrase is culturally understood, what did you just say? You said that you could not believe. What’s more accurate or what should you say? I do not believe that.

Don’t limit your ability to believe by the words of your mouth. You are a believer. Not a doubter. I want to share more about this with you in today’s podcast. You can stream today’s podcast on YouTube, Apple Podcast or Spotify.

Today’s Prayer 🙏

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, I believe you love me extravagantly and you have great plans for my life. I pray that you will help me ponder the path of my feet. Grant me wisdom for all the decisions I have to make today. Show me the adjustments that I need to make. Help me to guard my heart and have a soft heart before you. Thank you for leading me and guiding me. I will thrive in 2025! In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
