Make THIS Your Aim

God wants you to thrive in 2025. In today's newsletter, Pastor Kerrick shares how God wants to provide for you and how you can cooperate with His provision. Read today's newsletter to start your day with faith and encouragement.

"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 "Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 "and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, [will He] not much more [clothe] you, O you of little faith? 31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Today’s Devotional 📖

Good Morning,

This week, we have discussed how to fight the weeds of worry with the promises of God’s provision. As Jesus continues in Matthew 6, He shares what we should aim for our entire life. The AMPC of Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.”

What are we to aim for? We are to aim to keep God first in our lives. Although that seems elementary, if we do not continually aim for it, it won’t happen. We have to make God and His Word first place in our lives. His Word has to be final authority in our lives. If we do not aim for that, something else becomes number one in our lives.

Jesus also says we should aim and strive after God’s way of doing and being right. If we take God’s Word and make it first place and final authority in our lives, that means we choose to believe the Word of God over anyone or anything else. Simply, if the Bible says it’s right, it’s right. If the Bible says it’s wrong, it’s wrong.

What is the result if we aim, strive after, and make God and His Word first place and final authority in our lives? All the things that Jesus said people worry about are freely added to us. I want you to notice something about this passage. It tells us to make God and His ways first. If there is a first, there is a second, possibly third, and so on. Why do I say that? You may have other desires in your heart that you want in this life. Is that a problem? If the desire doesn’t conflict with God’s Word, then it is not a problem at all. When we make God’s Word first place and final authority in our lives, trust His promises of provisions, and refuse to worry, the things of this passage are added to us and we will thrive in 2025. I want to share more about this topic with you in today’s podcast. You can stream today’s podcast on YouTube, Apple Podcast or Spotify.

Today’s Prayer 🙏

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, I believe you love me extravagantly and you have great plans for my life. Help me to develop the soil of my heart so that your Word produces multiplied, long lasting results in my life. I will thrive in 2025! I choose to cast my cares upon you. I refuse to carry my cares because you love me, you care for me, and you always take care of me in grand style. Thank you for providing for me. You are my source. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
