Hey, Did You Hear About...
Welcome to Faith in the Morning! When people face a situation for a long time, sometimes they accept this as permanent. However, your faith in God can cause the situation to dry up from its roots. In today's devotional, Pastor Kerrick continues to share on the diet of a faith champion and its connection to removing chronically negative situations from your life. You need to stream this devotional! Today, ask yourself the question, "What am I feeding on?" Sometimes, people feed on gossip. Gossip is junk food that will throw off your spiritual diet. Stream today's podcast to learn more and start your day with faith and encouragement.
Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 In response Jesus said to it, "Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." And His disciples heard [it]. ... 20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away." 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. 23 "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive [them], and you will have [them].

Today’s Devotional 📖
Good Morning
In the previous devotionals, we emphasized how the fig tree dried up from the roots. When Jesus spoke the Father’s words to the fig tree, it seemed like nothing happened at all. However, that didn’t move Jesus. Where did the words of Jesus go? To the root of the fig tree.
When you are living the faith lifestyle and speaking God’s Word to a situation, your faith and those words are going to the root of the problem. Don’t be moved just because it seems like nothing has happened yet. The words and your faith are dealing with the root issues.
This week, we have focused on the diet of a faith champion and its connection to removing chronically negative situations from your life. Psalm 37:3 tells us to, “Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. (NKJV)
Are you feeding on God’s faithfulness? To overcome chronically negative situations, you have to implement the diet of a faith champion. What you feed on matters. Through the Scriptures, God’s Word is described as spiritual food.
However, we feed on many things throughout our days. Some of those things aren’t good for us at all! Proverbs 26:22 (NLT) says, ““Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one’s heart.” The MSG version says, ““Listening to gossip is like eating cheap candy; do you want junk like that in your belly?”
Gossip is cheap candy. Not the good kind either! It is spiritual junk food that will throw off your faith diet. You may say, “I don’t listen to gossip.” I want you to think about this today.
Gossip is a multibillion dollar industry. Many tv shows, podcasts, and YouTube channels are full of gossip and people devour it. It’s what they feed on continually. I want you to examine yourself today. Are you feeding on gossip? If so, it’s time to make a change to your diet plan.

I ask for your wisdom in this area and I receive it. Thank you for your wisdom. Help me to be strong in faith and not give up when results are not immediate. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
