God Wants To Provide For You

God wants you to thrive in 2025. In today's newsletter, Pastor Kerrick shares how God wants to provide for you and how you can cooperate with His provision. Read today's newsletter to start your day with faith and encouragement.

"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 "Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 "and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, [will He] not much more [clothe] you, O you of little faith? 31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew 6:25-33 (NKJV)

Today’s Devotional 📖

Good Morning,

This week, we have discussed how to fight the weeds of worry with the promises of God’s provision. As Jesus continues in Matthew 6, He makes an interesting statement. He says that we shouldn’t worry and be consumed by thoughts of what we are going to eat, drink, and wear. He adds that the Gentiles are driven by those things.

When you see the word “Gentiles” in this context, I don’t want you to define it as a person who is not Jewish. In this context, a Gentile is a person who does that have a covenant with God. Guess what? As a believer in Jesus, you have a covenant with God! In His covenant, God makes certain promises to His people. One of the promises He has made to you is a promise of provision.

Since we have a covenant with God, we have to make a decision not to worry. Those who do not have a covenant with God are consumed with thoughts of worry. We have to cooperate with God’s promise by working, budgeting, planning, and believing God for increase.

As I close this newsletter, I want to let you know that your job is not your source. God is your source. Your job is a resource that God uses to provide for you. God has many resources at His disposal to provide for you.

As I shared yesterday, fight the weeds of worry with promises of God’s provision. Your Heavenly Father didn’t spend all of His resources on birds. He didn’t bankrupt Himself in clothing the fields with flowers. He is the Almighty God and He has more than enough for you! I want to share more about this topic with you in today’s podcast. You can stream today’s podcast on YouTube, Apple Podcast or Spotify.

Today’s Prayer 🙏

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, I believe you love me extravagantly and you have great plans for my life. Help me to develop the soil of my heart so that your Word produces multiplied, long lasting results in my life. I will thrive in 2025! I choose to cast my cares upon you. I refuse to carry my cares because you love me, you care for me, and you always take care of me in grand style. Thank you for providing for me. You are my source. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
