Experience The Defensive Power Of Peace
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)
Good Morning!
Did you know that the peace of God has defensive power? According to the verse above, the peace of God is able to guard your heart and mind. In a world full of anxiety, chaos, trouble, and worry, it is an extremely wonderful benefit to have the defensive of abilities of peace working in our lives.
To have peace operate defensively for you, you have to tackle anxiety and worry head on. Whenever you are tempted to be anxious or worry, immediately turn to prayer. No, I don’t mean you have to drop to your knees or run to your prayer closet. Instead, internally or under your breath, pray, “God, I’m feeling anxious about this area. I ask for your peace and your wisdom to help me in this situation. I thank you that you are with me and that you will never leave me or forsake me.”
After you pray that, ask God for what you need in that situation. Line up your request with the promises in His Word. After praying that way, thank God that He heard you, that He is granting your request, and that He is working things out for you in a marvelous way. As this becomes your normal practice, you will experience the defensive powers of peace. This is the life that is available for you in Christ Jesus.
Say this with me today, “I refuse to stay in the rut of discouragement and despair. I believe I will see the goodness of God in my life! I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. I choose joy. I choose to praise and rejoice. I do not quit. I do not give up. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I am an overcomer. I overcome every problem by my faith in God. I am on the winning side and I refuse to quit or be defeated. Father, I pray that I may be filled with hope, all joy and peace in believing. I thank you for giving me the victory in Jesus’ name, amen.”
