Back To Basics: Fear Tolerated Is Faith Contaminated

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Romans 8:37 (NLT)

God loves you extravagantly!

Before we jump into today’s devotional, I want share a special update with you! This Friday, I am releasing a brand new 10-day devotional called, Peace: Your Shelter During The Storm. I am giving it to you for FREE. It will arrive in your inbox on Friday morning. Please forward it and share it with others. I know it will help a lot of people with the situations they are facing and things that are to come. Let’s jump into today’s devotional!

1st John 4:16 says, “And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him.” (AMPC)

God doesn’t want you to only know about His love. He wants you to understand it, recognize it, be conscious of it, observe it, experience it, and trust in it. This is a wonderful process, divine education, and exploratory journey into the extravagant dimensions of God’s love. It’s growth!

As you grow in this love, fear loses its place in your life. 1st John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].” (AMPC)

A little fear is not healthy for you, nor should it be the motivating factor in your life. Fear tolerated is faith contaminated. Fear is not just fright, but an operating system that people live by. When we grow in understanding, belief, and experience in God’s love, fear is evicted from our lives.

Today, refuse to tolerate fear. Remind yourself that God loves you extravagantly, He has greater dimensions of His love that He wants you to understand and experience, and He wants to love others through you. In today’s podcast devotional on YouTube, Apple Podcast, or Spotify, I share more along these lines. Stream it and share it with others!

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, I believe you love me extravagantly. You are Love. You proved your love for me by sending Jesus, the Son of Love. You have poured your love on the inside of my heart by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Love, who lives on the inside of me. Help me to become rooted and established in your love for me and love others as you love me. I resist fear and refuse to allow it to call the shots in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Have a great day!
