Back To Basics: Expecting To Win Because God Loves You

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won't he also give us everything else? ... 35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, "For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.") 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Romans 8:31-32, 35-37 (NLT)

Good Morning

God loves you! We should build our lives on the foundation of God’s love for us. This foundation of God’s love for us should produce an expectation for victory. We should expect to defeat every challenge because we know that God loves us. If you ever find yourself struggling with your faith due to challenging situations, it’s a reminder to build your faith in God’s love for you and in the specific promise of God that deals with the challenge.

In today’s podcast devotional on YouTube, Apple Podcast, or Spotify, I share more about this topic and pray a prayer for those who feel like giving up. Our lives have to be built on God’s love for us. As we covered this week, Ephesians 3 says we should be rooted and grounded in God’s love for us.

When you know that God loves you, you become more hopeful and develop a victorious mindset. Romans 8:36 is a direct quote from Psalms 44. When you study Psalms 44, you realize the author was facing a challenging situation. Psalm 44 ends with the Psalmist’s prayer for God’s help and deliverance. What was the basis of the Psalmist’s prayer for God’s intervention? God’s faithful and unfailing love for them. (Psalm 44:26)

There will be challenges and battles in this life, but God gives you the victory because He loves you. When you are facing life’s challenges and the attacks of the enemy, you have to remind yourself that God loves you. I have created a playlist to help you immerse yourself in the truth of God’s love for you. Click here to get started in becoming rooted and grounded in God’s love for you.

The past few Sundays, I have been sharing how God has a new season for you! In this series of messages, we talked about how to live in a new season, how to maximize your new season, and how to embrace your new season. Don’t give up! God has a new season for you because He loves you and has good plans for your life. If you missed these messages, you can listen to them here.

Pray this prayer with me today, “Father, I believe you love me. You are Love. You proved your love for me by sending Jesus, the Son of Love. You have poured your love on the inside of my heart by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Love, who lives on the inside of me. Help me to become rooted and established in your love for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Have an amazing day!
